Parents are advised to develop and maintain a strong partnership with their child's school.

At times when extra support is required the school's leadership and welfare team will have many different approaches available.

The Northern Metropoitan Region currently has two Social Integration Units, for children at Primary School and three Teaching Units that provide support for Secondary students. It is important to discuss these options with all professionals involved.
