Sibelius is an excellent notation program -terrific for writing arrangements, creating worksheets.
Finale Notepad is a free program your students can use to write music notation at home or school. It can be downloaded for free.
Also remember Band In A Box? This program keeps getting bigger and better. With this program you can:
Create an instant accompaniment in any key, in any style and at any tempo
Record and overdub up to 32 tracks from a MIDI keyboard
Add harmonies, soloist tracks and song introductions
Print single or multiple score parts
Record your voice over the prepared backing tracks and Add a harmony to your voice
